TCA chemical peel treatments are an effective, yet non-invasive anti-aging treatment that helps turn back the clock on your skin's appearance, making you look younger than your age.

TCA chemical peels are more aggressive than glycolic peel treatments.  Classified as a medium type of chemical peel, TCA peels remove a relatively thicker layer of skin on the facial area, allowing newer and healthier skin layers to surface.  It is for this reason that TCA peels are commonly used to treat deep wrinkles, dull-looking skin, dark spots, blotchy skin discolorations, freckles and facial scars.

That being the case, it is important to make sure that you take the necessary precautions after a TCA peel to protect your skin and enjoy the benefits of the treatment for a longer period of time.

Use a Gentle Cleanser and Toner

After your TCA peel treatment, your skin would be extremely sensitive.  Make sure that you use a gentle soap-free cleanser, followed by an alcohol-free toner to cleanse your face and prevent it from getting irritated.  Steer clear of any exfoliants for the meantime, as these can cause your skin to become raw and irritated.

Wear Sunblock

Another thing to remember after getting a TCA peel is to keep your skin protected from the sunÕs harmful rays with the use of sunblock lotion.  Many dermatologists will recommend to still use sunblock lotion even when you are indoors and during cloudy days since there will still be some UV rays that will be present, which can cause harm to your newly treated skin.

Avoid Peeling

In many cases, some people that go through a TCA peel may experience their skin to continue to peel even after the treatment.  In the event that you notice tiny flakes on your skin, do not peel these off.  This will cause bleeding and possible scarring on your face.
